“Jug” or growler. This is so perfect! Exactly what I had in mind. The only sad thing is that this was the jug which got the handle broken off of it and then fired.
BUT, I’m so happy that the glazes that I’m using are finally doing what I want them to do. This is an iron oxide brush work under a “sage” glaze (a blueberry plant). I love how it looks really old. The top is “Black Tenmoku”, applied thinly so that the ridges would show brown and the valleys would be black. Over it I put a splash of the “Iron Red” that I love so much.
